Hilton Hotel proposal

Resource consent to build a new Hilton Hotel on the outer-T of Queens Wharf was granted by the Greater Wellington Regional Council in September 2006. Five appeals were lodged with the Environment Court and a hearing began on 30 July 2007 which, after an adjournment was completed on Wednesday 18 October.

On Friday 14 March 2008 the Environment Court released its decision - to not uphold the resource consent. The applicant, Waterfront Investments Limited, have decided not to appeal this decision. Accordingly, this proposal will no longer proceed.
